The red hybrid tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus (Linnaeus, 1758) x O.mossambicus (Peters, 1852) is a fertile hybrid used in the semi-intensive level of fish culture in the Northeast of Brazil.It is a territorial cichlid and is highly aggressive towards conspecifics during the breeding season.
